These are some quotes from my partner Lisa. She teaches art to kids. The kids love her – for good reason. She’s a really lovely person and a bit unique*.
The quotes here are really notes for me to keep – actually, to use in my wedding speech and maybe in the years to come when we’re old and doddery and looking back. If you know Lisa or you meet her, they’ll make more sense.
* Lisa is smart, forward thinking, a misfit like me, a romantic at heart, sometimes vague (also like me), genuine, caring, and other words I’ll think of and add later. She also tends to repeat the same daggy things over and over. Things like:
“I love our life Phil.”
“I wish we were going on a road trip.”
(When we’re driving off to the supermarket.)
“Can’t find my keys.”
(This is daily – usually when she’s about to go down to the studio to start a class. Amazing, but at last I’ve met someone as forgetful as me. And incidently, I met Lisa when she left her sign out on the footpath one evening when she was closing up shop.)“It doesn’t take much to make me happy.”
(Can be a walk down the back lane at night to put the rubbish bins out, or hanging the washing up, or a night at the movies.)“Don’t panic!”
“Help me!”
(When things are going pear shaped.)
More to come.
I’m dedicating the quotes in the Love category (on the main part of this blog) to Lisa. You’re the one LP.
